NEPC & NYSPTA webinar: June 17th. Beyond the Curve: Post-Pandemic Back to Work for Employees & Employers

Beyond the Curve: Post-Pandemic Back to Work for Employees and Employers. Register here:

The COVID-19 crisis has rocked all of our communities, and particularly the parking, transportation, and mobility industry to a significant degree. Municipalities, universities, healthcare institutions, private operators, and more across our region (and the country) laid off or furloughed thousands of employees. However, as communities begin to reopen, what does this look like for organizations faced with safely and effectively reintroducing employees back into the workplace and their daily routines?

Join NEPC and NYSPTA on June 17 for a virtual discussion of what reopening could look like, as well as strategies for keeping employees safe and comfortable, while giving them the tools and resources to effectively do their jobs. Topics will include:

• Physical logistics of bringing employees back, including their interactions with each other and the public, testing and monitoring, and distributing and enforcing personal protective equipment.

• Human resource considerations like the rehiring process, implementing personal safety policies, and monitoring employee mental health and wellness.

• The new workplace. Will remote work policies be relaxed, and for how long? How will offices be set up to ensure personal distancing? How will crisis management procedures be revised?

This joint webinar is open to members and non-members throughout the region and beyond. We hope to continue to support parking, transportation, and mobility professionals with the information, updates, and resources to help you and your team navigate this critical time and lead your organization into the future.

NYSPTA member UAlbany opens 1st upstate Covid-19 testing site

On Monday, April 6th, NYSPTA member and home to our President Jason M. Jones, UAlbany turned its Colonial Quad parking lot over to the Department of State to serve as a drive-through testing site. As you may know, drive-through sampling sites are a critical part of the Governor’s strategy to combat COVID-19. These facilities reduce density and the potential for spread by keeping those potentially affected out of area healthcare facilities and hospitals.

Is your operation doing anything to help support this fight? If so, we would like to showcase your efforts in our upcoming Spring 2020 newsletter. Send information here.

2020 Spring and Summer Events Cancelled

We are writing to inform you that our 2020 Summer Event at Spinning Wheel in Syracuse, NY on June 16th and our previously postponed Spring Event at Pace University on March 18th have both been cancelled this year. In the meantime, we are actively pursuing and organizing programming to keep our members engaged during this unprecedented time. We will also be contacting those registered for the Spring 2020 event in regards to refunds, credits, and advertisements.

Thank you all for your cooperation, Jason M. Jones

Postponed: NYSPTA Spring Event

As information regarding the COVID-19 Virus is rapidly changing we have been in
communication with our host, Pace University. PACE will be going to all
online classes through March 29th and have offically cancelled our event as
well as others on their campus through that timeframe.

This is a fluid situation and we must err on the side of extreme caution. While this is not the outcome we were seeking we are sure you all understand. Please be assured that we are looking into re-scheduling the event at PACE and will be able to advise you of the new date in the coming weeks.  We will address at that time how to roll your event fees into the new event or provide a refund.

Thank you for your cooperation.

President, Jason M. Jones
