NYSPTA Leaders Attend the 2025 City & State Transportation in New York Summit

October 28, 2025 – New York City
NYSPTA President Kevin Wood and Executive Board Member Nan Chen of Walker Consultants attended the City & State Transportation in New York Summit 2025 — a must-attend event for policymakers, transit officials, urban planners, and industry leaders shaping the future of mobility across the state.

The summit highlighted how New York’s transportation systems have evolved since the pandemic. With more cars, bikes, and scooters on the road, and significant system upgrades underway, the event provided an important opportunity to re-examine and enhance mobility solutions for both New York City and the state as a whole.

As a member-based nonprofit association covering parking and transportation, NYSPTA recognizes the importance of staying informed on the latest developments in the field. Both Kevin and Nan emphasized the value of getting out to network and continuing education in their profession.

They were joined by Leo Zheng of the Dalor Group, one of NYSPTA’s newest members, who said he was impressed to learn that the NYC Gateway Project is moving forward despite negative headlines — and was particularly struck by the growing role of AI in transportation planning and operations across New York City.

“I was really honored to be a guest at the City & State event,” said Kevin Wood. “They put on a high-level program with 200–300 transportation professionals all gathered in the heart of New York City — what could be better?”

Kevin also expressed enthusiasm about future collaboration, noting,

“We look forward to a partnership to promote each other’s events in 2026 — we’re a great match for growing industry awareness and education.”
